“What Link Does Between Quests”
From "The Legend of Zelda" to "A Link to the Past"; from "Ocarina of Time" to "Majora's Mask", there's one thing you can count on: Link always starts the quest with three hearts. No matter how much he beefs up to defeat Ganon in the previous adventure, he always reverts to a weenie-grade three-heart life bar! It made me wonder: how does Hyrule's most powerful hero fall so hard by the time the world needs saving again? I'm guessing that mushroom beer, with the aroma of sweet, rotting fruit, might have a hand in it. And don't forget the nachos. Why does Link like nacho chips so much? Because they look like mini Triforces, of course! Zelda is probably sitting in the recliner next to his passed out by 9 o'clock. This situation actually looks pretty familiar; this comic was inspired by several Let's Play series on YouTube featuring the aforementioned Zelda titles. My wife and I like to tune these in for background noise on our Renaissance days; they're actually just the thing when doing artwork or programming our own video games. And if you're curious about the DVD titles on Link's shelf, they are "Robin Hood: Men in Tights", "American Psycho", "Cannibal Holocaust", "Caligula", and the Trailer Park Boys series. Oh, Link.
